As with any medical device there comes a bit of extras that aren't always revealed at the time of the sale. In our continuing effort to be a full service business we here at Life Support Services thought you should know the following: According to OSHA, all AED's that are placed in any location other than private home use, will require personnel whom work in the building to be certified in the usage of the AED and that certification will be re-certified on a regulated basis. As well, the FDA requires that any AED's that are placed in any location other than private home use, will have a prescription for said AED that is site specific. Some AED's also require a certain amount of maintenance, be sure to factor all of this information into your decision on cost, as the price may rise significantly. Finally If purchased in California, your AED and AED program must comply with Title-22, etc. If your dealer is not informing you of all of these things then you may consider a different route to fill your needs. Also make sure you are informed of which AED's have been recalled by looking on the FDA's website. |
